After the fall of Saigon, Jimmy’s family fled Vietnam by boat in the dark. When it began to sink, they thought it was the end, until a cargo ship pulled them from the water. An American family later sponsored them to the U.S., where they began again with no English and no map for the road ahead.
Years later, his family faced violence, loss, and a father lost to illness, and each time, calling for help led nowhere. That is why Asian Blue Anchor exists, so other families never have to face those moments alone.
Today, that conviction is carried by more than one person. ABAA’s core directors and volunteers walk beside immigrant families from across Oakland and the Bay Area, offering the resources, advocacy, and steady support to help them find solid ground again.
